| dc.description.abstract | The words of this song conjure up the characteristic landscape of Ikaria, with its vine-dotted slopes, rainy Mesaria, the storms that batter the mountainous region of Athera, and the sunbathed coastal village of Evdhilos, and sing of the pleasure to be found in the local wines.
The song is strophic. The melodic unit consists of a single phrase that is repeated to cover the rhyming couplet in fifteen syllable iambic meter, followed by a refrain in trochaic tetrameter. The five-four rhythm is characteristic. | |
